Last year when we were in Chicago we couldn't believe that we had ever lived there! During our time in Minnesota before we moved here to Ireland, it was so wonderful but also all our "no's" too! =) We’ve had those same feelings. You can always go and visit a large university go on vacation to the mountians or down south or out west. If you really want to you can avoid Detroit.
