  • The Gay Buffer: video explanation

Finally someone has taken the gay buffer and made a video so that everyone can understand. This explains, to some detail, the effects of breaking the code in the potty.

Since this involves potty humor… I’m going to make people who want to see the video click "read more…" for those on a feed… you’ll have to come check it out.

  • One week until vacation

In just a week Kristen and I are off on our second big vacation of the year. This is a great vacation year for us! We’re headed off to a cruise in the San Juan Islands on the Pacific Catalyst with Bill and Mama Shan. We’re spending serious quality time with some friends from YMX.

Since no one I know really gets why we are so excited about this I thought I’d post a video.

  • Two Fun Wal*Mart Videos

    Walmart
When you are the world’s largest retail chain and one of the world’s largest private employers, you are going to get punked here and there. Here are my two favorites of the moment.

  • Newsvine is dead, you stink!

NewsvineI will admit that I enjoyed my initial experiences with Newsvine. It was a fun social/news bookmarking site for a while.

To me, it is representative of all that is bad about a social network…

    • The interface is the same today as it was when I joined. Lame!
    • The community is extremely catty about what gets posted.
    • Their "popularity" reward system was as lame as they come. There were people (like me) who had posted tons of news stories and was never escalated. But there were others who just had 1-2 things posted, made a couple comments, and earned all their little stripes.

I suppose this proves hos finicky a web-user can be. 6-9 months ago I loved the site and liked getting email reminders the second things posted in my categories I’ve tagged. Today, I deleted my account when I realized that I hadn’t logged in in 4-5 months. Best part is, no one noticed or cared.

I’m waiting for my form letter.

  • MainStreet: October Promo Video

Hard to believe that MainStreet is only a couple days away. Tonight I finalized a very odd little commercial. If you don’t find it funny, just relax knowing that it’s funny to me.

p.s. I fixed the type-o… it won’t appear in church but I don’t want to resubmit it to YouTube.

  • Paul scoring goals

If he scores during the game… he gets chocolate!

  • Saturday Tunes

Saturday_tunes_2Saturday’s in the Spring and Fall mean "soccer" for our family. So, while we’re off serving the soccer god this morning, here are the tunes piped into our ears as we run from one game to another and bribe our children to score goals with chocolate.

As always, these are the next 10 songs on the shuffle, no cheating with ratings included.

    2. Hollywood by Collective Soul *****

  • Cubs Passing on the Curse?

SantosheaIn 1969 as Ron Santo warmed up at Shea Stadium, this black cat paced around him. The Cubs gave up an insurmountable lead to the "Miracle Mets" and the Cubs embraced more misery.

Now it appears the curse is on the Mets 38 years later. (While the Cubs clinched their division last night)

Can the Mets buy a win? It doesn’t look like it. And hard core fans
who are living the Mets historic demise… I’m sorry. I know how it goes.

As a Cubs fan, I’m happy to pass on the curse. But maybe… just maybe… some Mets fan should bring his black cat to the next home game?

  • Situation in Oroville

    New Story

Obviously, Kristen and I were in shock to hear about the events at Las Plumas High School in Oroville today. I won’t say that I am surprised as there is always something strange happening on that campus, but I am just glad it has ended peacefully.

Please pray for Shawn Hayse at the Oroville Church of the Nazarene as the church is directly across the street from LP and I have no doubt he’ll be helping many students there. Maybe even drop him an email to let him know you are praying for him and his wife Amy.

    Oroville
    Update:
As I suspected in this post yesterday, Shawn and his church were literally right in the middle of this event. The church was used as a place families came together to wait for news. Likewise, media and police used the church parking lot for staging. News story
