I think the drink stand is a great idea. But if I didn’t know you, there’s no way I’d be taking anything to drink. Of course I very much grew up in the culture of checking all Halloween candy before it was eaten…and anything slightly unwrapped, no matter how good it looked, had to go.

Great comment. I agree. We shouldn’t be the jerk on the block that stiffs people for candy. (Of course, we’d expect and think they were jerks if they didn’t come to a car wash wouldn’t we?)

And I still think people who don’t give out candy on Halloween are jerks. Self-righteous jerks with “convictions” maybe, but jerks nonetheless.

Part of being a good Christian witness is being a good neighbor, not turning out your lights and pretending you’re not home when everyone knows you are.
