The sinking fund renewal is still on the ballot for January 15th, 2008. I am asking anyone who lives in my school district to take 5 minutes to look into this issue for yourself. Let me cut to the chase, I think voting YES for renewing this fund is bad for Romeo. I think voting NO for renewing this fund forces the school district to live within it’s budget.
I first wrote about this issue on December 19th. If you’ve not followed the discussion in the comments between myself and Jennifer White, RCS trustee, I encourage you to do so. Let be clear, I think Ms. White is doing a fine job. It’s not easy being the sole reformer on the board.
- Here’s the list of items they’d like to fix with $8 million ABOVE what you and I already pay in taxes.
- Here’s an information piece that was sent home via our children and the district’s email system. (Using taxpayer dollars, staff time)
- Here’s my rebuttal piece to their piece. I took the time to respond point-by-point with my concerns.
