Shout to the LordI missed this, but there is plenty of talk about it today on blogs. During American Idol last night the cast sang Darlene Zschech’s classic modern worship song, Shout to the Lord. (The song has it’s own Wikipedia page, you know it’s big!)

Here’s the video for those who missed it.

After getting over the initial shock (albeit, a wonderful shock!) when they announced that the group would be singing “Shout to the Lord”, I sat mesmorized while they belted out the song. It gave me goosebumps as I listened to it - what a glorious rendition! Thanks for posting it Adam!

I was really impressed that they would actually sing that song.
They did a really excellent job.

I heard somewhere online that on Wednesday night they didn’t say “Lord” in it, but replaced it with something else? I don’t know if thats true because I heard it on Thursday night and they sang it the normal way.

Autumn, watch it again. They changed a word in the first line. They exchanged the word “Jesus” for “shepherd.” Not a major change but noticeable.

question: why would they change “Jesus” for “sheperd” if the whole song is singing praise to God?? They say “Lord’… i dunno… whatev i guess…

Remember Lisa, this is American Idol - I’m pleased they sung it at all.
