I am very close to this issue since my dad worked for GM for 30 years and believed in what he was doing. He was a line worker, not the decision maker and one of those 500,000 now in the retirement program. He gave his life&#039;s best for that company and GM put food on our table.

I admit, the corporate model and your concept of over-promising is a very tangible thing. But there were and are good men and women being affected by the daily happenings of GM and decisions that were not made by them. Families are struggling and now find themselves unemployed because of this.

Using phrases like &quot;GM was stupid&quot; is a little insensitive. It may be a corporate entity but this is people we are talking about here. My family. My friends...real life people.

Please tell me how you intend to fix the &quot;problem&quot; of those 500,000 retirees? Who, by the way, if they were not provided for by GM would probably be living off of government assistance anyway?</description>
