How did it get to be Wednesday? For the third Saturday in a row I was working all day and didn’t really get a chance to watch much football.
San Diego State
But I did watch this game! I’m loving the Mountain West on ESPN this year. (There have been lots of good MWC games.)
While SDSU didn’t ultimately win the game, having a blocked field goal at the end of regulation, they hung in there against a team that should have clobbered them.
So here we sit, 3-4. Our bowl game hopes are likely dashed. There will be no Mountain West title game. But we still have a lot to play for. I’m looking forward to the game this weekend with my family, too.
My hope is that State will continue to get better, that recruits will want to be on ESPN, and that next season is even better than 2013.
Notre Dame
I didn’t see any of this game. It was on CBS college, so even the highlights of the game were buried. I did see that we cracked the top 25 again. With powder puff games against Navy and Pitt coming up next, they’ll be 8-2 when they take on BYU. Get through that game and getting slaughtered by Stanford on November 30th won’t even matter. If they are 9-3 they are going to the BCS. Even at 8-4 they are on the bubble because of their ability to sell tickets.
Elsewhere
Like I said before I didn’t get to see any games. Pretty much, things went as you’d expect, with no major upsets.
That is, except for the Dukies. While it took them a decade to figure out DI football, it appears Duke is on the right track. They even look to be bowl bound… how crazy is that?
