Properly Loading Volunteer Staff

Your role as a ministry manager isn’t just to plan programs and teach students. Successful ministry largely lies in your ability to properly manage a group of volunteers.

Take five minutes and identify which category each of your volunteers is happiest in:

  • Low capacity
  • High capacity
  • Super capacity

What are some ways you can vary what each volunteer contributes to reflect how God has gifted them?

Adam- Just sent this on to my staff team. Perfect timing. We had a volunteer training yesterday and had High School students, Young adults and parents all there who serve in some capacity in our ministry. This was a good follow up to that meeting to encourage my leadership team to think through how they will care for their leaders and how to manage them. Thanks for doing this and for looking so good on both the NYWC video I saw you on today and this one. Clearly you are stepping out in front of the camera because you have finally realized how good you look on film. 🙂

Thanks for that Lars, and for sharing the thought with your team.

Now that we aren’t doing the podcast anymore, I get a lot less camera time!

Yea I don’t think I ever saw the podcast. My bad. But, I like that you are using a “thinning” camera. I need one of those.
