It’s only a matter of time before Barry Bonds hits the 756th home run to own the “all time” record.
There is an odd relationship going on with this story and the media. On the one hand, it’s a slow news cycle and ESPN doesn’t really have much else to cover. On the other, there seems to be a growing sentiment that Bonds may lose the record in a forthcoming investigation. My estimation is that ESPN has decided to make money on the chase to beat a record they plan on making even more money to be a part of the removal of the record.
I like baseball. It’s not my favorite sport but it keeps my attention until the college football season. This whole thing with “Did Barry Bonds use steroids or not?” is just a joke. It seems there is a better drug testing policy in high school and college baseball as there is in the Major Leagues. Why can’t they just test everyone then do some random testing?
Along the same lines. What is happening in the NBA with the referee gambling on games… this could be the nail in the coffin for the NBA. Outside of the major markets, does anyone watch the NBA?
