Week 13 Results
- Arizona – First they struggled with Stanford, then they got beat the entire game against Cal. (Great shot to win it at the buzzer by Cal.) Of bigger concern is the foot of forward Brandon Ashley. If it’s broken, this might cost them a shot at the National Championship, which just sucks.
- Syracuse – A lot of superlatives about the win against Duke, but it shouldn’t have been that close. Two wins this week, the Orange continue to roll.
- Florida – Breezing through a crappy SEC. By far this years worst power conference.
- Wichita State – Walking through their AAU quality conference schedule.
- San Diego State – Handled business against Colorado State at home. This team is deep.
- Kansas – A split week. They got blown out by a white hot Texas team though. Still lead the country in RPI.
- Michigan State – A split week, injuries are killing them. Struggled at Iowa and who knows what happened against Georgetown?
- Oklahoma State – Take it back to the lab. The wheels are off for the Cowboys, lost 3 out of 4.
- Villanova – Two good wins to make up for last week. They are so athletic, this team is dangerous.
- Michigan – They really struggled with Purdue, maybe a letdown game. Then they just looked lost at times against a truly bad Indiana team.
- Kentucky – Split the week with a win and a loss at LSU. This is a good team, not elite like we’re used to seeing, but serviceable to make a run in March.
- Louisville – Tough week for the Cardinals. Cincinnati was just too much and they took the L.
- Cincinnati – Two wins on the week, moving on up!
- Wisconsin – What happened to Wisconsin? They seem to have lost their identity and are on a cold streak.
- Iowa – They played well in the loss at home against Michigan State. And while they struggled against Illinois for no real reason, they got it done in the end to split the week.
- Iowa State – Even though they split the week, they played well at Kansas and not many teams get wins there.
- Duke – They never made a loss look so good as they did on Saturday. One dunk away from beating Syracuse, this is a team on the rise.
- Pitt – Two losses, including a king maker by Tony Bennett’s Virginia.
- Saint Louis – It’s easy to say that they don’t play anyone. But they also aren’t losing to anyone, another team on the rise.
- Creighton – ESPN got what they wanted, their boy Doug with the statement game. This is a team on the rise but I don’t see them going anywhere in March. 1-headed dragons in a 2-man tourney.
- UMass – Say goodbye to UMass for a while. I wasn’t impressed with how they played this week. 3 losses in conference play now.
- Memphis – I didn’t se this game, but don’t count this team out. They are big and athletic, a good seed in March could catapult them to the Sweet 16.
- Oklahoma – A split week doesn’t hurt them much. The Big 12 is deep and tough.
- Ohio State – Time to stop talking about the Buckeyes until they get out of this funk. Right now it looks like they are the 8th best team in a weak Big Ten.
- Texas – They are on the trampoline. 6 straight wins, 4 against ranked opponents. No one cares that they lost to BYwho early anymore.
