  • Bahamavention

    Self-explanatory and very funny.

  • Whom Shall I Fear?

    Slide1
These are the talk notes from Sunday’s service. It was a cool chance for me to "close out" 2006 and help our church look forward to 2007.

**Note: The images we used for this message were from a Simply Youth Ministry freebie a few months back. Gasp! We used imagery that was used at Saddleback? Doesn’t that mean that we are Purpose Driven? (Man, I’m a bit snarky on January 2nd)

  • Time flies for me when…

The clock seems to be spinning faster than usual for me lately. This week is nearly over. The business meeting last night was over in a flash. Light Force… I blinked and it was over.

With mounds and mounds of things to do in the coming weeks. I’m already looking forward to a little vacation time at the end of the year!

  • Barack Obama on MNF

I know this may not have been seen by everyone… but I thought it was great. Nothing wrong with a politician having a little fun.

  • Get your own smile!

    Osteenad
I just saw this and thought it was fun enough to share. It’s true, no one smiles quite as pretty as Lakewood’s Joel Olsteen.

  • Brady for the Heisman?

    Bradyquinn4
I don’t actually think Brady Quinn will be winning the Heisman today, I think that Troy Smith is a slam dunk for it, but some guy over at ESPN has put together a pretty funny mock speech. (There is a speech for all of the candidates, check them out by following the link… also, this is just the beginning. There is more of Brady’s too.)

Brady Quinn – QB, Notre Dame

I want to start by saying
that it is an honor to win this award and an honor to be here, just as
I’m sure it is an honor for all of you to meet me, Brady Quinn:
quarterback of Notre Dame and dreamboat extraordinaire. And, yes, it’s
correct what you’re thinking – I am even more handsome in person.

(Pause to look at cameras. Gaze deeply into them. Work it, Brady. Work it. Give them what they came for.)

    There
are so many people I want to thank. First of all, my parents for their
love and support. And I don’t want to forget my sister Laura. You look
beautiful tonight in your half formal dress, half Packers jersey. Your
sense of fashion has always inspired me.

I’m not sure what this is all about… but apparently a lot of people think Brady Quinn is good looking. I mean, the guy plays football? For only $9.99 a year, you can register the domain "www.bradyquinnishot.com" Hurry, supplies are limited. Seriously, what’s up with all the weird goo-goo eyes about the quarterback for Notre Dame?

  • I’ve posted another of these from this "Will it Blend" series. So here, is a new one… and a fun reply someone made.

    The response… pretty funny.

  • 3 observations from our last trip

Over the last weekend I didn’t have time to be very philosophical, but I made a few important observations.

Michigansucks Most Michigan Fans are Pansies I have been a Notre Dame fan living in Michigan for the past 3+ years, and I thought it was just stuff that happened to me because I was wearing Notre Dame gear… but at Michigan’s Adventure I wore a Michigan State shirt and experienced the same pansy behavior. Here’s what I mean. I was walking around the park with my wife and kids. Time after time some guy with a Michigan t-shirt would look at me and when he was past me but still within ear shot he would say, "We got you this year. We’ve got you." This didn’t happen once, it happened 5-6 times all day long. Only a pansy and desperate fan would say stuff like that.  I don’t like U-M football one bit… and it will cause me great pleasure to know that these guys will suffer another down year in 2006-2007.

Michigan’s Adventure needs a better ticket policy. This bothered me all day. At Cedar Point (same parent company as Michigan’s Adventure) you can add tickets without a problem the day of the event. But at Michigan’s Adventure if you add tickets to your order you get to pay for them at the full price. It wasn’t a huge difference, but it demonstrated why Cedar Point is still the best park in the country.

Light Force is going to be better than ever. It’s only been one week or so, but I can already tell that Light Force is going to be fantastic this year. We’re hoping to grow exponentially as the year goes on… and I finally think we are positioned to make it happen.
