Because I’m pretty much amazing

June 1, 2008 · 8 comments

It’s impossible to wrap-up five years of ministry. There are too many memories. Too many good times. Too much fun. Too many 6:00 AM Bible studies. Too many tough times. Too many scary phone calls. But you can try. And some of my former students did a very nice job putting together this video for me on my last “official day” as a pastor in Romeo. They know I’m not sappy and teary. But I am sentimental… I love this video. It’s super cool.

While ministry in Romeo has come to an end… two things are worth saying. First, I’m not done in ministry, I am not hanging up my Pastor super-hero costume just yet. Second, being done at Romeo doesn’t mean you’re going to see me on “Pastor’s Gone Wild.” I’ll be the same person when I wake up in the morning that I’ve been for the last 5 years. I have the same passions. I will think the same things. I will be invested just as much in the lives of students and parents. I’ll just have a slightly different focus and zip code.

And the deal for these former students remains open… if they can survive the sex talk and other fun parts of pre-marital counseling, I’ll happily come back to perform their weddings.

    One word for this… BRILLIANT!

Nice work, good times for one and all. Job well done, Adam, thanks for loving Jesus and the folks of Romeo!

I dunno, Autumn… you know the difference between “funk” and that other word, right? You know… she is so innocent I doubt she’s ever heard that word. ;)

Speaking as the young girls mother, she knows! I was so embarrassed Sunday. That’s my girl!

It’s true. I tossed out a challenge for some students to come to a Bible study before school… I thought 2 students would come for like 2 weeks and then quit.

5 students came for 2 years. Every Tuesday morning at 6:00 we cracked open the Bible and spent an hour drinking coffee, praying for one another, and studying God’s Word.

Lesson there, be careful what you wish for!

well done and blessings on your transition.
great video – so funny and really neat to hear some of your students bless you.

@tony. Thanks, God has definitely done some awesome things with students lives while we were here in Romeo. I can’t wait to hear what God will do from here on out.
