The last 36 hours have been huge politically. I’m not really a political person but I can tell something significant has happened.
As a fan of the 2 party system I can actually see how having a split here between the Executive and Legislative branch may actually get things moving faster. At the same time, getting their butts kicked will wake up the Republicans to get back to the grassroots "what the people want" mentality that brought them to power.
The reality is that after 6 years of Republican control, they didn’t get done much. Sure, we’ve got the Supreme Court judge thing under control… but they managed to do little on the issues that conservatives care about.
