  • Small Talk

One thing that works for me as a parent is creating [hopefully] memorable experiences. I’m not great in the day-to-day. But I feel like I’m pretty decent when I can do something special with my kids.

We used yesterday’s Wooden Legacy Finals in Anaheim as an excuse to hang out together for twelve hours. And as much as I’d like to say that I had some sort of a grand plan to make the most out of our day together, I really didn’t. I just knew we were going to spend time together and over the course of that I hoped we’d enjoy some bonding time and get past our normal small talk.

  • College Football Thoughts – Week 14

    the-adam-report

If there is any doubt that college football surpasses the NFL in

the psyche of the American people, all doubt was set aside yesterday as CFB experienced it’s most exciting Saturday of the season.

4 of the top 25 teams fell to lesser opponents including 2 of the top 5 in Oregon and Baylor.

  • College Football Thoughts – Week 10

    the-adam-report

November in college football. It’s a glorious thing. Teams are at their best, the air is cooler, and the games are all the more meaningful.

Yesterday only disappointed in that it didn’t provide that signature upset finish. Sure, there was Nebraska’s hail mary. But let’s be honest in acknowledging that outside of Omaha that game had little impact on the national landscape.

  • Jamaal Franklin Goes Super Mario on Fresno State

Last year, after a big win where Jamaal hit the game winner, he said “Sometimes I just go from Little Mario to Big Mario.”

And that was the case last night. Midway through the 2nd half in a close conference opener Jamaal came down the court tossed it off the glass from 3-point land, dodged traffic, and threw it down.

Last years Mountain West Player of the Year wanted to make sure he was nominated for this years award. Point well taken.

    And then Twitter blew up.

Hats off to you, Mr. Franklin.

  • Ideas for the SDSU Priority Points System

Ideas for the SDSU Priority Points System

Like most college athletic departments, SDSU has a point system for allocating tickets. Whether its NCAA basketball tickets, moving to better season ticket locations, or seating priority for a bowl game, the point system is valuable to all fans who like to attend games.

The Problem with the Current SDSU Priority Points System

With that said, the current SDSU point system is struggling to adapt to an exploding fan base. Starting in about 2009, the football and basketball programs have gone on a tear, moving from regional doormat to a blossoming national awareness. The net effect has been that there are two different San Diego State fan bases.
