Saturday TunesThis was an incredibly fast week. A week of big ups and downs. I’m actually thrilled to get to the weekend and start relaxing. Today we have some fun planned. The kids have been begging us to take them bowling… and since I’m not a fan of the game I’ve put it off for a long, long time. From there we plan on doing some furniture shopping. When we left Romeo we were going from 2000 square feet to about 1000. The new place is more like 1500… which means the kids rooms are virtually empty. So we’re off to find them desks and bookshelves and things like that. Then mom and dad get to have some fun. The contracts on our phones are finally open, so we’re going to head to the Apple store and finally jump on the iPhone 3G bandwagon. I had gone back and forth with the Blackberry vs. iPhone… in the end, the App store takes it over the edge.

This morning is quiet. Coffee brewing, birds chirping, music playing. Here are the next 10 songs playing on my (for sale) iPod. As always, completely random and my ratings are included.

Saturday TunesHere we are. Another Saturday. We’ve all awoken in a new place this week and it’s been fun. One thing we can’t get over about the new house is how quiet it is. No more noisy cars zooming by, no loud noise when the furnace kicks on, and we’re not so close to our neighbors that we can hear them sneeze.

This morning we are off to Anza-Borrego State Park to see the desert flowers. Yesterday, Tic told us we had to go this weekend or we’d be sorry. With advice like that we can’t go wrong. I’m sure we’ll have a ton of pictures to share of our adventure later.

In the meantime, I’m chilling in my super quiet house listening to music. Here are the next 10 tunes flowing this morning. Completely random, ratings included.

#1- Don’t Give Up by Sanctus Real ***

Saturday TunesIt’s amazing how fast the last few weeks have gone. It just seems like every time I turn around I’m here talking about what I’m listening to on a Saturday morning! Last night, we took the kids to Gio’s in La Mesa for our family date night. Then, they came home and everyone crashed by about 9:00 PM. This morning is normal Saturday morning stuff. We had waffles and coffee and in a little bit I’ll take Stoney over to dog beach so he can run around and play with other dogs. Kristen is pretty occupied thinking about our move, which starts in just 8 days!

Here are the next 10 songs I’m listening to this morning. Completely random, my ratings included.

    1. We All Want the Same Things by Kevin Michael ****

    2. I Will Not be Silent by David Crowder Band *****

All sorts of little things to do today. Right now I’m off to take Stoney for his weekly trip to the beach. After that we’re going to a Chinese festival downtown, the kids have been learning about Asian culture at school and this seemed like a fun way to celebrate that. Later, a couple of friends are coming over for an early dinner. Then, we’re off to a screening party of Ian’s 12 Films in 12 Months.

This morning was another normal routine Saturday morning. Up super early, listening to tunes and stuff like that. Other than catching up on my Google Reader stuff, I played around with a couple of things on Youth Ministry Pro. [Job search site]

We just said goodbye to Kristen’s parents. They were here for 8 days. It was a really fun visit and we were all sad to see them go. Lots and lots of happy memories.

I have a feeling today will be fairly uneventful. A couple errands, a couple walks, but that’s pretty much it. Lifestyles of the rich and famous, right?

As with every Saturday, my morning gets started with a nice cup of tea and some music. Here are the next 10 songs on my ipod. As always, this is totally random and my ratings are included.

Late December. No mans land for all things blog heavy! I have lots of heavy thoughts floating around that will be fantastic blog posts one day. But the simple reality is that it’s a good time to just chill out and not try to change the world too much this time of year. Truth is, had Luther posted his 95 Thesis in the week between Christmas and New Years the movement now known as Protestantism would have never gotten off the ground.

Nice weather returns to San Diego today. With that in mind, Kristen and I are hoping to take the kids to the Ocean Beach Pier. We’ve wanted to walk out there and it looks like today is the day!

As I wait for it to warm up outside (currently 41, high of 61) I’m jamming to some music. Here are the next 10 songs on my playlist. As always, completely random and ratings included.

    #1 Drifter by Decemberadio *****

Kristen and I are feeling a bit post-party this morning. (I’ll create another post a little later about the YS Christmas party.) We don’t have anything on the agenda today. Seriously, other than picking-up Jonathan and taking him to the airport, I am not sure what we are doing with our day.

This morning is pancakes and chatting with our kids about last night. Megan and Paul had FOUR babysitters last night. Jon, Jenna, Paul, and Amy from our community group completely spoiled our kids last night with a holiday party of their own. They made gingerbread houses, played Christmas bingo, chubby bunny, and good cop/bad cop.

Anyway, as always music is a part of my morning. Here are the next ten tunes playing on my iPod. As always, I’m just hitting the shuffle songs button and recording what comes up. So this is completely random, no cheating, and my personal rankings are included.

After a quick trip to Vegas for Turkey at my mom’s house, today lands our family back in San Diego.

I can’t tell you how good it is to know that I have no scheduled trips for work. I’m home for the holidays and that’s cool. Anyway, today is a chill day. I’m working on about 6 different writing projects for the blog, plus doing some pre-launch brainstorming for my new web ideas. Oh, and later I get to watch Notre Dame get pounded by USC.

Anyway, music is always a part of my day. Here are the next 10 tunes I’m listening to. As always, these are completely random, no cheating, with ratings included.
