Saturday TunesAh, Memorial Day. It’s hard to have an “unofficial start to summer” when your kids have 6 weeks left in school and the temperature pretty much hovers around the same 20 degree variable 10 months a year. Alas, it’s summer and I’m excited about that.

We’ve had a hectic for a kick-off to a 3 day weekend. Last night we decided to take the trolley down to the Gasplamp district of San Diego to enjoy our family date night. While we got settled onto the trolley I got a text that my long-awaited iPhone app had finally released. (You get to submit and wait for Apple, no choice on a release date.) Tucking that distraction into the back of my mind we had a good evening of walking around downtown and eating at the Old Spaghetti Factory. [Just OK food, but the kids liked it.]

This morning I woke up and did a bit of PR to get things moving with the app. Then I dashed of to Del Mar to film a podcast segment with a comedian… who was funny despite it being 10 in the morning. From here we actually don’t know what we’re doing until Tuesday morning. I’m sure we’ll figure it out.

For now, I’m just chilling and listening to some music.

Here are the next 10 tunes flowing to my cranium. As always… completely random with my ratings included:

Saturday TunesAnother weekend, already? If it has to be Saturday I will take it. Yet, it hardly seems like a week since my last installment.

Last night we had some friends over for dinner. Chris and Anastasia are very cool and I’m thankful to have them on staff at Harbor dreaming of ways to reach people and bring justice to City Heights. Kristen absolutely went off and delivered one of the most incredible collections of food ever. With a mediteranian theme she made everything from scratch. Homus, pita bread, chicken skewers, salad, and even frozen yogurt. Give that woman a kitchen and some ingredients and she comes to life. All of those years of girl porn have really paid off.

Today we are taking the kids to the zoo for a while. I’ve never been and they have each been a few times. So that will be fun. Have we gotten used to Southern California to the point where we are laid back about going to the San Diego Zoo? I mean, that place is a wonderland of zoology. I’m sure it’ll be fun.

As usual, Saturday kicks off with some quiet time. Everyone is sleeping in and I am quietly listening to some tunes. Here are the next 10 tunes randomly selected on my iPod… er, I mean iPhone.

Saturday TunesAh, Saturday. This was a fast week full of projects, lists, late nights, and dreaming about the future. I would say that I’m looking forward to a relaxing weekend… but we’re moving! Needless to say, our Saturday is a little jacked up getting ready for it.

But this morning is simple. A man and his computer. A boy and his cartoons. A girl and sleeping in. Kristen and Stoney are off climbing a mountain. You know… a quiet start to a wild weekend.

Saturday is here. We were supposed to be doing the last day of our garage sale… but neither Kristen nor I felt it was worth it. So if you are looking for a couple of furniture items just drop by and ask, OK?

With the moving truck coming on Monday and serious loading beginning on Tuesday, I think the best description we have for what’s going on here is “preparing.” There isn’t a ton left to do, but there is still stuff to get done. Oh, and we have a showing at lunch time.

So, while I’m doing the Saturday thing… music is always going. Here are my next 10 tunes. As always this is completely random with ratings included.

#1 Viva la Vida by Coldplay *****

Time is quickly ticking away on our tenure here in Romeo. With roughly two weeks left, we’ve got our garage sale on tap for next weekend as well as loads of stuff to “pre-sell.” (Seriously, come over and make an offer on any of the furniture, yard tools, and other stuff we need to unload.) Later, I’ll be cleaning up the car more so I can list it on Craigslist. Yippee!

Anyway, here are the next 10 tunes blasting my cranium. As always, this is totally random with no cheating, rating included.

Saturday TunesIt’s kind of cool having a Monday through Friday job. For the first time in forever I can look forward to going to church in the morning without thinking of a million work details. That’s a guilty pleasure.

Today we are heavy into “honey-do” as we have a graduation party at the house in just 8 days. So this morning I got started painting the basement floor a sexy basement floor grey color. We’re also tidying up some kitchen projects that are long overdue. This includes finishing the kitchen cabinet and counter thing that has been in “pending” mode for nearly a year. It’s kind of crazy how you just get used to stuff not being 100% done, isn’t it?

So with that stuff spinning the iPod is working overtime. Here at the next 10 tunes I’ll be jamming to. As always, completely random, no cheating, ratings included.

    1. Revolutionary Love by David Crowder Band ****
    2. Emtpy Heart by Newworldson ****
    3. Proud Father by Jon McLaughlin ****
    4. It Just Takes One by Addison Road *****
    5. Loose Lips by Kimya Dawson *****
    6. God of This City by Chris Tomlin *****

    8. I Stand Amazed by Chris Tomlin ****

    10. Welcome to this Place by Hillsong ****
    What are your next 10?

saturday tunesA quiet Saturday planned for our house. I’ve got some reviews to finalize and stuff like that, I’m going to work on the podcast for YMX… but other than that, I’ll probably just be doing normal Saturday stuff all day. My big trip out is going to be for water softener salt. You know you’ve got a lame day planned when that’s on the agenda.

As I drink my coffee and get ready for the day, here are the next 10 songs being piped into my eardrums courtesy of iTunes. As always, I’m just hitting the shuffle button and writing down the next 10 songs that come up, ratings included.
